TUNISIA / Calls for the Atelier Takmil and the JCC’s Ciné Fondation

The Carthage Film Festival (JCC), this year celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, is hosting the 3rd Atelier Takmil (Takmil Workshop) on November 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd.

Since 2014 this workshop has allowed African and Arab film-makers to submit their film projects in post-production to the expertise of an international jury. The most promising rough cuts receive funding to complete the editing and mixing. In 2015 grants worth €63,000 went to six Tunisian, Egyptian and Syrian directors thanks to the support of several partners, including the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie, the Centre National du Cinéma français, the Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image tunisien and the Abu Dhabi film fund SANAD.

Film-makers wishing to be included have until September 1st to register at this address.

This year for the first time the Festival is also launching a Ciné Fondation, an international competition for drama films made in schools. The deadline to register a film is September 15^th. Registration can be done on the web-site www.jcctunisie.org
