At the end of March, Tunisia’s principle public channel, Al Wataniya 1, and the 24-hour news channel France 24, launched a joint magazine programme, “Paris-Tunis, Tunis-Paris”.
Co-produced by the two channels, the programme is recorded alternately between Paris and Tunis, and broadcast on the last Friday of the month, simultaneously on both channels from 7:10 pm.
The magazine features discussions about Mediterranean news in general: politics, the economy, culture, sport. The journalists Taoufik Mjaied (France 24) and Elyes Gharbi (Al Wataniya 1) jointly present the discussions, accompanied by experts and guests.
For the first show, recorded in Tunisia, Habib Essid, Head of the Tunisian government, answers questions about the security and economic challenges Tunisia faces five years after the Jasmine Revolution.
The magazine will be shown in an Arabic version on France 24, and after transmission will be available free on France 24’s web-site and on Youtube France 24 Arabic.
