Having co-directed the short film La Vie Sexuelle de Mamie with Emilie Pigeard, shown during the 26th PriMed and awarded the César for Best Animated Short, Urška Djukić is now shooting her first feature: Little Trouble Girl.
Filming began on June 20th in the town of Cividale del Friuli, Italy and will continue over the summer in Ljubljana, Slovenia. A 6-day shoot next winter is also planned.
Co-written by Djukić and Marina Gumzi, the film’s co-producer, the story focuses on a 16-year-old female student, Lucija, in her first year at a prestigious Catholic school. After a few rehearsals of the all-girl school choir, Lucija, disturbed by this emotional and physical experience, becomes overwhelmed by previously unknown sensations and erotic thoughts.
The film is produced by SPOK Films (Slovenia), Staragara I.T. (Italy) and Izazov 365 (Croatia), in co-production with Nosorogi and RTV Slovenija (Slovenia) and Sisters Productions (France).
In 2016, Urška Djukić directed her first short film, Bon appétit, la vie!, for which she won the Vesna Award at the Slovenian Film Festival. In 2018 she co-directed The Right One with Gabriel Tzafka, premiered during the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, and in the same year she was selected for the Cinéfondation residency to develop Little Trouble Girl.
