SLOVENIA / Eight features supported by the Slovenian Film Centre are being made

Slovenian Film Center

The Slovenian Film Centre has announced that 8 feature films it is supporting will be shot in 2024.

One of the films listed, Girl of the Night, began filming in February. It is about a young kleptomaniac who foolishly steals a bike from a young woman who believes she is a crime-fighting superhero – for real. The film’s director Luka Marčetič defines it as “a comical and absurd story about monsters and misfits.”

Another film supported by the Centre is Boris Petkovič’s new feature FC Freedom, scheduled to start filming this spring. Produced by Iridium Film, the story follows two teenagers, one Syrian the other Slovenian, who meet in a Greek refugee camp. Both discover a common passion for football.

The six other films – Whites Wash at Ninety (Marko Naberšnik), Elvis Škorc, Clever Klutz (Boris Jurjaševič), A Way Away (Sara Kern), Hotel Alcohol (Jan Cvitkovic), 20 metrov (Damjan Kozole) and Čista in zakopana (Martin Turk) – are all scheduled to start filming later this year.
