After winning the Golden Bear at the 2021 Berlinale, Radu Jude returns with a new film, Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World, currently in post-production.

Divided into two parts, the film follows an overworked and underpaid production assistant who is researching a video on safety in the workplace commissioned by a multinational company. One of her interviewees makes an inflammatory remark which contradicts the company’s narrative – forcing him to change his story to suit the company.

In a press release, the director describes his project as “a fragmentary film about work, exploitation, death and the new gig economy (a term used to describe a market based on job insecurity).”

Once again Radu Jude worked with his usual team: director of photography Marius Panduru RSC and editor Cătălin Cristuțiu. Do Not Expect Too Much from the End of the World is produced by the Romanian company 4Proof Film and co-produced by Thiltges Distributions (Luxembourg), Les Films d’Ici (France), Kinorama (Croatia) and microFILM (Romania). Heretic Outreach (Greece) is handling international sales.
