This year the 22nd Astra Film Festival (AFF) will be held from October 5th to 11th in the city of Sibiu, under the patronage of Romania’s President. Its main aim is to promote cultural and intercultural understanding as well as to offer the public an intimate and detailed picture of the human condition.
This festival of documentary films will offer a selection of 130 films from around the world. Forty-nine films will compete in the competitive sections: 10 in the International Competition, 10 in the Central and Eastern Europe Competition, 14 films in the Romanian Competition and 15 in the Student Films Competition.
There are also out-of-competition sections – Made in Romania, Under Height Limits – as well as thematic programmes, special screenings and a variety of side events.
