PRIMED 2023 : MARSEILLE 4-8 DECEMBER

PriMed has just closed its doors. More than 3,000 young people from both shores of the Mediterranean were able to debate and vote for their favorite film. This year, for the first time, they were also able to experience a very powerful moment of exchange with two young Afghan migrants. The opportunity for them to understand why young people choose to leave despite all the difficulties they will encounter on their roads. They also discussed with Pierre Haski, geopolitical journalist and President of Reporters Without Borders, President of the PriMed jury this year, about the issue of freedom of expression.

The audience, for its part, responded, like every year, by coming in large numbers to meet the directors after the screenings.

503 films were received for this 27th edition of PriMed. 24 of them were selected. 11 awards, (the Mediterranean Issues award has been attributed to the film “Bigger than trauma” by Vedrana PRIBAČIĆ and Mirta PUHLOVSKI).

We thank the directors for allowing us to experience strong moments thanks to their works, for answering questions from high school students and from the audience. Thanks also to all the people who accompanied us to make this new edition a success!
