On June 26th construction work began on the Ouarzazate International Film City, a project which will cost at least 240 million dirhams (€22.47 million).
Spanning 10.49 hectares, Aujourd’hui le Maroc says this film complex will boost the city’s profile as a “national and international hub for the film and audiovisual industry.” More broadly, it should strengthen Morocco’s position within the national and international film industry.
The Cité Internationale du Cinéma will be structured around five hubs covering the whole production chain, from a 3,000m² studio with filming and post-production facilities to hubs for training, creative technologies – and even film tourism.
