Organised by the Observatoire marocain de l’image et des médias, the 7th Cap Spartel Film Festival will run from March 18th to 21st. This year, “Cinema and human rights” will be the topic discussed at Tangier’s Rif Cinematheque.
Each year the Cap Spartel Film Festival focusses on a country and its films. This year Czech and Slovak films have been chosen, with particular attention given to the filmography of Milos Forman, a pioneer of Czechoslovak cinema.
In addition to the screening of the sixteen films, there are two competitions. One is called “official” and the other is dedicated to young people. Katy Wazana, Fouad Zouirik, Naser-Eddine Boucheqif, Eric De Fontaine, Bahija Hachimi, and Ahmed Eddaferi are on the juries. European and Latin American film-makers are invited to represent their countries, including France, Algeria, and Macedonia.
