Organized by MEDIMED, the Euromed Docs Market was held from October 12th to 15th in Sitges, near Barcelona.
This Euro-Mediterranean market for documentaries puts selected project leaders together with international broadcasters, co-producers and financiers. First there was a public Pitching Forum, with the selected directors and producers presenting their projects. Then individual meetings were organised with potential co-producers. Before the meetings there were professionally-led workshops to help project leaders prepare their presentation.
This year 25 projects were selected, including A Sacred Lie (Spain), Between the Two of Us – MARSEILLE (France), Crusade and Cross (Spain), Puzzle (Israel) and Trash Cemetery (Tunisia).
With the support of Creative Europe-Media, MEDIMED had also organized discussions and meetings with the sector’s professionals in order to develop and encourage collaboration between broadcasting companies. Well-known international groups like 2M, ARTE, Al Jazeera Documentary, the BBC or TRT World were present at the event.
