MALTA / The Mediterranea Film Festival announces its selection

Mediterrane Film Festival

For its 3rd edition, Malta’s Mediterranean Film Festival has announced a programme of 40 films from 20 countries. It takes place from June 21st to 29th.

The programme is divided into three sections: the Official Competition and the Out-of-Competition section. Among the 10 titles presented in competition, the documentary Igor Bezinovic’s Fiume o Morte! (Croatia, Slovenia, Italy) explores the history of the dictatorial regime established by the poet Gabriele d’Annunzio in Rijeka after the First World War. Joshua Cassar Gaspar’s The Theft of the Caravaggio (Malta) is also in competition.

This year’s Festival aims to show Malta as a dynamic platform, strengthening its international film image and attracting more companies to the islands. To this end there will be a programme entirely for professionals, with masterclasses, workshops and panels.
