Despite this year’s health crisis, the organisers of Kosovo’s major festivals, Anibar, Dokufest and Prifest, have announced all three will be maintained.
Anibar is Kosovo’s only animation festival. Since its creation it has been held in Peja. This year’s festival, the 11th, will run from August 17th to 23rd. Around 300 films will be shown in five different cinemas, three of which will be outdoors. The festival is also organizing workshops, masterclasses, discussions and meetings with film-makers.
The 18th Dokufest will be held from August 7th to 15th in Prizren. This international documentary and short film festival is Kosovo’s largest film festival, with 100 films being screened each year. Photographic exhibitions, discussions and masterclasses complement the screenings.
After consultation with Kosovo’s health authorities, the Prifest organizers have also decided to maintain their 12th edition, holding the first event from July 17th to 19th, but with certain modifications. The programme has been halved and there will be no competition this year. Since few international guests will be able to visit Prishtina, the region’s platform for film industry development, PriForum, will go online so that discussions with various experts, directors and representatives of the film industry can be maintained on thoses dates. The physical edition will take place from 25th to 30th August.
