Elena Ferrante’s latest novel, The Lying Life of Adults, will be adapted into a television series. Her first saga My Brilliant Friend was broadcast by HBO in co-production with Wildside and Rai. This time Netflix will produce this new series.
Set in Naples in the 1990’s, The Lying Life of Adults follows Giovanna’s passage from childhood to adolescence. The book was released in November 2019 in Italian book shops, and will be available on September 1st in the UK.
The streaming platform has said the series will be filmed in Italy, and is being made in partnership with the Italian production company Fandango.
