Rome: on March 14th director Rolando Ravello began shooting “Immaturi – The Series”, a TV adaptation of Paolo Genovese’s two successful feature films “Immaturi” (2011) and “Immaturi – Il Viaggio” (2012).
Shooting will take 6 months, split between the Italian capital and Sicily. The 8-episode series is being produced by Lotus Productions for Mediaset, with transmission planned for 2017 on Canale 5.
The script, with Paolo Genovese as artistic director, uses the same central concept as the two feature films: a group in their forties want to pass their baccalaureat.
Some of the original cast – Ricky Memphis, Maurizio Mattiolo – return for the series, alongside newcomers Ilaria Spada and Daniele Liotti.
A big box office success in Italy, the two cinema versions of “Immaturi” grossed €26 million. The first was nominated for three David di Donatello’s, Italy’s cinema awards.
