ITALY / Call for films for the 14th Al Ard Documentary Film Festival

The Sardinia film festival for Palestinian and Arab documentaries is preparing its 14th edition.

From March 8^th to 11^th 2017 the Al Ard Doc Film Festival, organized by the Associazione Amicizia Sardegna Palestina, will once again showcase a selection of Arab documentaries and cinema films about traditions, politics, history, religion and Arab culture, with special emphasis on Palestine.

The organisers have launched a call for submissions which will be open until December 31^st 2016. The makers of any documentary or drama, short or long, produced between 2013 and 2016, are invited to register to take part in the competition.

4 awards, totalling €3,000, will be awarded at the end of the festival: the Al Ard Award for Best Film (€1,000), the Palestine Award for Best Film about Palestine (€800), the Best New Director Award (€600), and the Audience Award (€600). This year, as an experiment, a group of students will work with the festival jury on the awards.
