GREECE / The Agora Crossroads announces its selected projects

Agora Crossroads

The 19th Crossroads Co-production Forum will take place in Thessaloniki from November 5th to 9th.

Supported by the Creative Europe-MEDIA programme, this forum is for producers and directors from Europe and the Mediterranean, offering networking and co-production opportunities for the film industry in these regions. First off there will be a comprehensive preparatory programme for those taking part, including online and in-person workshops to perfect their presentation skills. These workshops will be supervised by producer Amanda Livanou (Neda Film).

This year the organizers have unveiled a new feature: “Bridge of the North”. Every year a Baltic or Scandinavian country will be invited to Greece to mark the cooperation and artistic collaboration between the South and the North. The first country to participate in this programme is Lithuania – a delegation of producers, directors and distributors from that country will attend the Agora meetings.

This year in the final selection there are 15 projects at different stages of development from 14 countries. The projects include first and second features as well as more experienced directors presenting their third or even fifth film. Among the titles: Isabella Margara’s Black Water (Greece), Alina Serban’s I Matter (Romania) and George Peter Barbari’s So the Lovers Could Come Out Again (Lebanon).

Several awards will be given by partners, including the Onassis Foundation, the CNC, ArteKino, Finos Film, the Cannes Film Market, the Sofia Meetings and many others.
