
The award winners of the 47th Cinemed in Montpellier were announced at the closing ceremony on October 25th.
The jury, chaired by actress Ariane Ascaride, awarded the Golden Antigone to Les Dimanches by Alauda Ruiz de Azúa (Spain, France). This feature film is about a pupil at a Catholic high school, Ainara, preparing to take her baccalaureate and choose her university path. To everyone’s surprise, this bright young woman announces to her family that she wants to enter a convent to sample life as a nun.
Distributed in France by Le Pacte, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on February 11th 2026.
Among the other award-winning films, Kaouther Ben Hania’s The Voice of Hind Rajab continues its success at festivals. The director left with both the Critics’ and the Audience Award.
