FRANCE / The Cannes Film Market is organising a summit devoted to the “creator economy”

For the first time the Cannes Film Market is launching a half-day conference about the “creator economy”. It will take place on May 17th.

The “creator economy” is the economy generated by content creators who use platforms and social media to reach their audience. According to the Film Market organisers, “this ecosystem […] is rapidly transforming the way stories are developed, financed and distributed, as these creators move towards feature film storytelling and production.”

The Cannes conference wants to bring together creators and companies in the sector to examine how the this economy works and what it can offer to the film industry.
