For the first time the Association du Cinéma Indépendant pour sa Diffusion (ACID) will organize three screenings at the Cannes Film Festival.
These screenings, called collectively the ACID Trip, will be on May 19th, 20th and 21st. The idea is to give a free hand to a foreign independent film body for three screenings. The organisation must be involved in the problems of getting films distributed and training the public.
This year the programme will be inaugurated by the Serbian film-makers’ association, Bande à part. Since 2015 ACID has helped programme the Belgrade Festival of Creative Film. It has also formed a partnership with the Institut français in Serbia, allowing many films supported by ACID to be bought and then screened in Serbia. The partnership also hosted a Franco-Serbian event last November.
