2Rives TV, an educational and multicultural television channel in French and Arabic, has just appeared in the French media landscape. Based in Lyon and founded by Hassan El Ouakhchachi and Marine Elek, the launch took place on September 16th. Aimed at all age groups and every audience, 2Rives TV replaces Cap Canal, a local Lyon channel. It is “dedicated to knowledge and education through innovative programmes which reveal and enhance North African and French cultures.” The channel’s principal vocations are education and sharing, developing its editorial line around tolerance and seriousness.
“North Africa and France share a rich common history, commercial, cultural and human. For centuries, North Africans have been living in France and the French in North Africa. Today 2Rives TV will promote and enhance this historically unique relationship, allowing viewers to discover the other, promoting tolerance in their shared experiences,” Hassan El Ouakhchachi & Marine Elek explain.
This channel is broadcast free on Numericable but is also available on the internet (www.2rives.tv). It will be broadcast “in Morocco, and then gradually to other French-speaking territories in Europe and Africa.”
