FRANCE / “Marseille” – the series – in production

marseilleShooting “Marseille”, the first French series produced by the US giant Netflix, began on August 31st – in Marseille. The series, presented as a French “House of Cards”, will consist of eight 42-minute episodes, directed by Florent Emilio Siri, Thomas Gilou and Dominique Carrara.

The audience will find themselves immersed in an electoral battle of succession between Robert Taro, the Mayor of Marseille for 25 years (played by Gerard Depardieu) and Lucas Barres “the man he chose as his successor, a young wolf with long teeth,” played by Benoît Magimel. “The two candidates fight a war of attrition, which only one of them can win. A story of revenge, as vicious as a gang knife fight, driven by drug barons, politicians, unions and the city’s political actors.

Marseille” should be available on Netflix from March 2016.
