FRANCE / Le Printemps du Film Engagé at Marseille

From May 20^th to 25^th, Marseille is hosting the Printemps du Film Engagé (Committed Film Spring), a new event which presents documentary films on social issues. The screenings are followed by discussions with film-makers, thinkers and others involved in social movements (Amis du Monde Diplo, ATTAC, LDH, CGT, FSU, Solidaires, Le Ravi, L’Humanité, La Marseillaise, Marsactu, Ventilo, Zibeline).

6 films are on the programme:

– “L’escale” by Kaveh Bakhtiari: Friday May 20^th at 7:30pm at the Gyptis (136 rue Loubon, 13003)

– “Vérités et mensonges sur la SNCF” by Gilles Balbastre: Saturday May 21^st at 4:00pm at the Variétés (37 rue Vincent Scotto, 13001)

– “Comme des lions” by Françoise Davisse: Sunday May 22^nd at 7:00pm at the Alhambra (2 rue du Cinéma, 13016)

– “Mains brunes sur la ville” by Bernard Richard and Jean-Baptiste Mallet: Monday May 23^rd at 7:00pm at the Local Solidaires (29 boulevard Longchamp, 13001)

– “Le réveil des reines” by Paule Sardou: Tuesday May 24^th at 7:00pm at the Centre Social des Flamants (10 avenue Alexandre Ansaldi, 13014)

– “Marseille entre deux tours” by Jean-Louis Comolli and Michel Samson: Wednesday May 25^th at 7:00pm at the Variétés
