Meditalents has launched a project call for its first co-production workshop in the Mediterranean. It is open to Mediterranean-based producer-director partnerships which have a first or second feature film project under development. The workshop will be held on April 5th, 6th and 7th in Marseilles.
It will offer professionals in the northern and southern Mediterranean countries the chance to think about different forms of co-production. The workshop brings together French and international producers, distributors and sources of finance with the aim of improving how films are funded and distributed.
To be eligible, projects must meet the following criteria:
• be produced by a Mediterranean producer who is the assignee of all exploitation rights,
• be directed by a film-maker from a Mediterranean country,
• be a first or second feature film, drama or documentary,
• be in development,
• the project’s author must have previously produced two short films or a feature film.
10 projects will be selected by a committee, which will announce its decision after February 20th. The southern region award will be in the form of development aid worth €20,000.
The deadline for applications is February 4th.
