Ciné-Palestine Toulouse Occitanie

Ciné-Palestine Toulouse Occitanie has unveiled the programme for its 10th edition which will be held from March 4th to 12th.

For 9 days, audiences from Toulouse and its region will be offered a programme of 37 films illustrating the great diversity of Palestinian film-making. For this 10th edition the organizing association, Compagnie Ici, Là-Bas et Ailleurs (Cilba), has chosen to devote part of the programme to archival material.

Entitled Archives en Exil, this section will present three programmes entirely devoted to Palestinian activist films produced in the 1960’s and 70’s by the PLO Film Department. These sessions will be accompanied by Leïla Shahid, former Palestinian Authority delegate to France and former Palestinian ambassador to the European Union, and by Khadijeh Habashneh, film-director and former head of the Palestinian Film Archive. Last year the Toulouse Cinémathèque, a partner in this event, worked on the conservation and digitization of these films.

As well as the archival strand, Ciné-Palestine Toulouse Occitanie offers several screenings and meetings, readings, a photo exhibitionEnfances à Gaza, a contemporary dance workshop and a solidarity concert: Des artistes toulousains avec la Palestine.

All the information can be found on the Ciné-Palestine Toulouse Occitanie web-site.
