GERMANY / Several Mediterranean films shown at the 2018 Berlinale

On Thursday February 15^th the 68^th edition of the famous film festival opened in Berlin. Several Mediterranean films are in the running in the different categories. France, Italy, the Lebanon, Spain and Portugal have the most productions or co-productions made in the region (15 for France, 10 for Italy, 9 for Lebanon and 6 each for Spain and Portugal). Several French films and one Italian film are in the main competition. Other Mediterranean countries – Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Israel, Egypt, Greece and Bosnia – will also present films.

In parallel with the festival, the European Film Market attracts almost 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries each year. It’s one of the film industry’s most important events.
