For the first time an award-winning film from PriMed has been shown on France 3 Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur.
The transmission on May 4th is particularly important since it crowns the work of thousands of high school students from right across the Mediterranean. Coming from Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Italy and Southern France they viewed 3 documentary films which posed questions about their Euro-Mediterranean citizenship: Erasmus à Gaza, Gemma a un plan and Malte, au nom de Daphne.
Having voted, either in Marseille or in their respective countries during the screening sessions, their choice for the Mediterranean Young Persons’ Award went to Erasmus in Gaza.
Directed by Matteo Delbò and Chiara Avesani, Eramus in Gaza follows an Italian student who wanted to study front-line surgery in a war zone and write a thesis on wounds from explosive bullets. Once in Gaza he discovered the reality of the Israeli occupation and the life of the young Palestinians with whom he created close relationships.
Broadcast on France 3 Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur as part of La France en Vrai, Erasmus in Gaza can now be viewed free of charge until June 4th 2023 on france.tv.
The film also won two Broadcasting Awards at the 26th PriMed in Marseille: one from France 3 Corse ViaStella and a second from Rai.
