CineGouna Funding, the industry arm of the El Gouna Film Festival, is launching a new project called “Egyptian Voices”.
The initiative is defined as a non-competitive training and mentorship lab designed to help Egyptian film-makers develop their feature film projects and prepare their applications for fund-raising.
The idea came from CineGouna Funding’s own experiences: they receive over 100 Egyptian film projects a year, all in development stage, and many needing specific professional guidance to strengthen their project packages.
In its first year “Egyptian Voices” will select four Egyptian projects from applications already submitted to the “Projects in Development” section of the CineGouna Funding programme. Those selected will benefit from individual training and guidance, tailored to each project’s specific needs.
The support will focus on preparing project documents, pitch decks, presentations and production plans, adapting them to each project’s specific needs and challenges.
The 2026 CineGouna Funding programme will take place during the 9th El Gouna Film Festival, scheduled for October 15th to 23rd.
