Cyprus Film Days

The Cyprus Film Days International Festival has announced the films chosen for its 23rd edition, which will be held from April 4th to 12th.

Launched in 2001, the festival takes place annually in the island’s two main cities: Limassol and Nicosia. It is organized by the Deputy Ministry of Culture’s Department of Contemporary Culture and the Rialto Cinema.

Seven films are competing in the international section, Glocal Images. Among them, the Serbian feature Sun Never Again by David Jovanović shows how an iron ore mine impacts the lives of Vid and his son. Also in competition, Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo by Khaled Mansour (Egypt, Saudi Arabia) is about the eviction of Hassan, his mother and his dog Rambo from their home.

In the Cypriot competition there are three films: Together Apart by Aliki Danezi-Knutsen (Greece, Cyprus), The Sock by Kyros Papavassiliou (Cyprus) and Smaragda – I Got Thick Skin and I Can’t Jump by Emilios Avraam (Cyprus).
