Production company Antitalent and Croatian film-maker Dora Šustić have been selected to present “Maličke” (Afterparty), a television drama series, at the 2021 Berlinale.

The series is set in present-day Zagreb, where Lucija, Iva, Ruža and Maja lurch from odd jobs, unbridled parties and tumultuous relationships. When a friend of hers gets pregnant and decides to have an abortion, Lucija questions her own beliefs at a time when the ultra-conservative movement is growing in popularity.

Maličke” won the 2020 HBO Europe Best Project Award after a pitch at the Black Nights Film Festival in Tallinn and taking part in the 2020 Midpoint TV Launch training workshop.

Initially this year’s Berlinale will be online, from March 1st to 5th. Then in June the selected films will be screened in the German capital’s conventional and open-air cinemas.
