Igor Šeregi’s Serbian-Croatian co-production The Wedding has been released in over 20 countries, including France, Italy, the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
Produced by Eclectica (Croatia) and Viktorija Film (Serbia), The Wedding is Šeregi’s second feature. The central character is a successful Croatian entrepreneur. On his fiftieth birthday he learns that his company is on the verge of bankruptcy and on the same day his family makes a surprise visit to his office to announce his daughter’s engagement.
Released on January 20th in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina this comedy broke box office records with nearly 220,000 entries on its opening weekend.
Since its international release the film has sold nearly 2.2 million tickets.
It received support from the Croatian Audiovisual Centre, Creative Europe MEDIA and HRT.
