Evil Eye, the first feature of director Adnan Hrustemović, is starting post-production. It is also the first horror film made in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Evil Eye follows a retired surgeon whose life is turned upside down after meeting a young woman who claims to be the victim of a terrible curse and haunted by a monster. He then begins to experience what appears to be the same curse.

In an interview with FNE, the director says: “I didn’t set out to make a classic horror film, although I think it does belong in that genre – while indirectly challenging it. What I am most proud of is its ambiguity, its multifaceted nature and the subtle way it plays with the audience’s perceptions and reasoning.”

Self-produced by the director at a cost of €200,000, with support from Kontraplan, the film will be completed by the second half of 2025. The world premiere is expected in 2026.
