The Awards Ceremony for PriMed 2016 was on Friday November 25th at the Villa Méditerranée, with many local personalities present.

Jérôme Cathala, CMCA chairman, and Renaud Muselier, deputy chairman of the PACA Region, opened the evening. Presented by Alexandra Galdon, the event was hosted by actor and screenwriter Moussa Maaskri, with musical accompaniment by Radio Babel, a Marseille group. The jury, chaired by the journalist and political scientist Antoine Sfeir, explained their choices, praising the quality of all the films.

Several students from participating high schools awarded the MPM Averroes Junior Award to the film they had chosen with their classmates. Other awards were given by representatives of PriMed’s partners.

Students from the Collège Montbrillant (Geneva), the Lycée Ismaël Dauphin (Cavaillon) and the Lycée Victor Hugo (Marseille) presented the MPM Averroès Junior Award to Angélique Kourounis, director of “Aube Dorée, Une affaire personnelle”

The Multimedia Award, chosen by students from the Menton campus of Sciences Po, went to Isabelle Sylvestre for her web documentary “Troubled Waters”

 

Ithri Irhoudane, welcomed by Renaud Muselier and jury member Daniel Deloit, receives the Art, Heritage and Cultures Award for “Tisseuses de rêves”

 

Lidija Zelovic, director of “My own private war”, receives the Mediterranean Memory Award from Jean-Luc Vernhet, INA’s Director of International Relations and Antoine Sfeir, chairman of the jury

Moufida Limam, manager of the ASBU’s Director’s Office, and jury member Lynda Bouadma present the ASBU Special Mention to Pierfrancesco Li Donni for “Loro di Napoli”

François-Xavier Trégan, co-director of “Daesh, paroles de déserteurs”, receives the France 3-Corse-ViaStella Broadcasting Award

The Grand Prix “Mediterranean Issues” goes to Silvia Munt (centre), for her film “La Granja del Pas”

After the presentation of the eleven awards, the festivities continued with music.
