FRANCE / Candidate call for the URTI Grand Prix

Since 1981 the Union Radiophonique et Télévisuelle Internationale (URTI) has organized an annual competition for auteur documentaries, with a Grand Prix for the winning film.

The aim of the competition is four-fold: to encourage the independent documentary format, to promote humanist values of tolerance and respect between peoples, to reject any form of propaganda whatsoever and to ensure a wider international distribution of all the finalist programmes, particularly the award-winning programmes.

The Grand Prix is overseen by URTI’s Director General, John Maguire, in close liaison with the Union’s partners.

Any international public or private television company can enter for the 37th URTI Grand Prix, as can associations and institutions working in the audiovisual sector.

Producers or directors of documentaries wishing to compete for the URTI Grand Prix will have to submit their programme to a preliminary selection by the organizations entitled to participate.

The participants can submit any broadcast programme of a documentary nature, made after June 1st 2016, with no limit of duration or theme.
