The 6th International Bosphorus Festival has launched its call for applicants, and this will remain open until August 17th. The festival will run from October 26th to November 3rd.
Organized by the Bosphorus Film Association and the Istanbul Media Academy, it is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Communication is handled by the state-run news agency Anadolu Agency, and its main business partner is the national broadcaster, TRT.
For the films in competition the different categories are: best film, best director, best actor, best actress, best screenplay, best short fiction, best documentary. The award for best documentary brings with it around €2,000.
Outside the main competition, there will be screenings of short films, animated films and documentaries. There will also be workshops and exhibitions.
Last year, more than 3,400 films from 100 countries registered for the festival.
