Once again Turkish public television (TRT) is organizing its International TRT Documentary Awards, created in 2009. On the one hand the festival wants to make the documentary genre better known to the general public, helping them discover films from different countries, and on the other hand it is there to help broadcasting professionals develop their projects. It is also a meeting place for directors from all over the world.
The festival has two competitions: one national, the other international. The first is divided into two categories: student films and professionally-made documentaries. Pre-selection has been open since November 25th 2019 and will end on February 7th. Results will be announced on April 6th. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on June 8th 2020.
