The 10th documentary festival Doc in Tunis, organized by an association called Ness El Fen, was held from April 20th to 24th. Traditionally based in Tunis, the festival also organised screenings of selected films in 3 other Tunisian towns from April 22nd to 24th: Bizerte, Kairouan and Sidi Bouzid.
The theme of this year’s festival was “living together”. Twenty Tunisian and international documentaries were shown, including Crystal Moselle’s “Wolfpack”, Thierry Michel’s “L’homme qui répare les femmes”, Amine Boukhris’ “War Reporter” and “Le Verrou” by Leila Chaïbi and Helen Poté.
Several master-classes were organised, one dedicated to the director Nouri Bouzid (“Making Of” “Millefeuille”).
Created in 2006, Doc à Tunis makes a point of free public access to screenings, “to promote the culture of documentary films, until now ignored by the Tunisians.”
