The 3rd Documed, the Mediterranean Documentary Film Festival in Tunisia, is being held online. From June 8th to 21st digital programming is replacing the physical event.
For this year’s festival, 26 films from various Mediterranean countries have been selected out of more than 400 submitted. There are many themes, ranging from civic commitment to the economic system, by way of ecology and solidarity. Feth Saidi, founder and director of the festival, says the themes of the chosen films are as varied as ever “from journeys into the reality of the rural and desert world to the desire for rights in the city, from highlighting immaterial cultural heritage to questioning as a means of understanding the past, the present and an uncertain future, from the upheavals of the world of work in crisis to behind the scenes of the new click economy, from the search for one’s roots and origins to getting rid of the weight of tradition in order to be free.”
With the agreement of producers and directors, all films are available on the festival web-site. To access it, you simply need to create an account.
Documed is organised by the association Cinéma Documentaire Tunisien. Its aim is to promote and make Mediterranean documentaries as widely available as possible.
