During the autumn of 2025 the 6th Ventana Cinéfila, an educational project to improve audiovisual literacy, reached 319,587 primary, secondary and 6th form pupils in 900 schools in Andalusia, Castile and León and Catalonia.
Organised by the Valladolid International Film Festival (Seminci), the Sitges Film Festival, the Seville Film Festival, the Huelva Film Festival and the Malaga Film Festival, this programme gives students the opportunity to watch a selection of seven feature films and six short films from around the world. Free of charge, the programme’s aim is to introduce young people to film culture and encourage discussion.
Every school receives a comprehensive teaching guide for each film to help teachers during screenings and discussions. The screenings are preceded by a recorded presentation by the programmers, providing an overview of the films and highlighting the value of each one.
Teachers can access the films in the programme online, directly from the Ventana Cinéfila platform.
