The MBC group, the largest media company in the Middle East and North Africa, has added a French interface to its streaming platform Shahid. Already accessible in English and Arabic, the site offers exclusive films and Arabic television channels, including satellite ones broadcast on MBC.
There are two options available: Shahid.net, a free offer with advertising (AVOD) launched in 2008 and a premium subscription offer, Shahid VIP available since 2009.
The new version is aimed at French-speaking viewers in North Africa, Europe, Canada and the Levant. Shahid and Shahid VIP subscribers can now access the French version of the website and see programmes with French subtitles. Shahid already offers several channels in French and over the coming months the platform will offer new French and North African series as well as other programmes. In April 2021 in partnership with the M6 Group, the platform launched 3 new French channels: “M6 International, TiJi and Gulli Bil Arabi, an Arabic channel, offer content on lifestyle, children, culture, cuisine, fashion, reality and news.”
