“Lumina” is the first science fiction feature film shot in the Kingdom of Morocco. Canadian director Gino McKoy filmed in the regions of Marrakech and Ouarzazate, particularly in the Agafay desert and the mountains of that region.
In an interview with La Tribune de Marrakech he promises a “mix of drama, action and science fiction.” The plot follows the investigations of an amateur videographer, a conspiracy theorist and a manipulator who together attempt to find the lover of their missing friend. On the film’s website the release is announced for May 31st. Two previews are planned: in Los Angeles and Marrakech. The film will be distributed by Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures. McKoy is a Canadian singer-songwriter, poet, record producer, actor and screenwriter of Trinidadian descent. The film contains several songs written and performed by him.
