MOROCCO / Birth of the Fédération Marocaine du Cinéma d’Amateurs

After three years of discussion, the Moroccan Amateur Film Federation held its first AGM on January 28th 2017. The session was well-attended, with 15 amateur clubs and associations, 4 of them in the process of being created, as well as individual film-makers, both amateur and professional, critics and journalists.

During the meeting the Federation’s status and projects were debated and each decision was unanimously approved. The meeting ended with the election of the Federal Council and its chairman (Damir Yaqouti).

The Federation’s main purpose is to develop amateur film-making in Morocco. Among others there are projects encouraging amateurs to work with each other and with people in other artistic fields – and to develop better distribution of amateur films abroad.
