On March 7th the Centre Cinématographique Marocain released the annual film industry report for 2019. The document covers every aspect of the industry :
As far as production is concerned, a large number of Moroccan films have been authorized (22 feature films, 115 short films, 39 television series, 20 TV films, 125 commercials and 18 docu-dramas). Foreign productions have also been given government authorization to film in the Kingdom (22 feature films, 16 TV series, 11 short films, 39 commercials).
In the distribution section the report shows an increase in cinema admissions: 1,883,425. Audiences have also discovered Moroccan films at various festivals: there were 81 entries for official competitions, while 60 festivals have shown Moroccan features out of competition.
Finally, in the promotion section, 75 film events were organized in the Kingdom thanks to the Fund which helps film festivals.
