MOROCCO / Agadir hosts the 11th FIDADOC

FIDADOC, the Agadir Festival International de Documentaire, will run from June 18th to 22nd. Organized by the Association de Culture et d’Education par l’Audiovisuel (ACEA), it is Morocco’s largest event for documentaries. Every year it offers audiences about thirty films from all over the world

The programme consists of different sections, some competitive, others not. For the first time the international feature film competition is presenting three first feature films which have all benefited from FIDADOC’s “artistic accompaniment” programme. Audiences are invited to discover films from the Arab and African short film competition, special “carte blanche” sessions, retrospectives and thematic programmes.

This 11th edition of the festival pays tribute to the Netherlands. It will open with the screening of the documentary The Miracle of the Little Prince by Dutch director Marjoleine Boonstra. Many Dutch films are also included in the different categories. Note the screening of Brass Unbound by the great documentary maker Johan Van der Keuken.

As a prelude to the 11th edition, FIDADOC is offering travelling screenings visiting seven towns in the Souss Massa region, so as to make documentary cinema accessible to all.
