A collective called Maboula has launched a crowdfunding appeal on the Zoomaal platform to finalize the basic scenario and production of a web documentary about women in the Mediterranean region and the violence they experience. “Women in Between: Love, Honor and Shame” will show subjects recorded in Italy, Tunisia, Greece, Turkey, Spain and Morocco, paying tribune to female victims of violence and social exclusion but who are nevertheless fighting for their rights. Economic crisis, immigration, domestic violence, femicide, abortion, forced marriage, are some of the themes the web documentary will raise.

The crowdfunding campaign is focussing on the Tunisian section of the project. During the last two years, the Maboula team have finished writing the web documentary, travelling around Tunisia for their investigations and creating partnerships.

Maboula is a collective of Mediterranean photographers, film-makers, graphic artists and web designers campaigning through its audiovisual works, with the aim of strengthening cultural bridges in the Mediterranean.
