MALTA / The Maltese feature “Żejtune” finds distributors in 14 countries

At the European Film Market during the Berlinale, the Maltese feature Żejtune, directed by Alex Camilleri, attracted buyers from 14 countries.

Among others the film will be distributed in France, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania.

Written and directed by Alex Camilleri, Żejtune follows the journey of a young woman who, after the death of her mother, wants to leave Malta for good. To finance her new start she decides to sell the farmland she inherited from her mother. But that decision brings her into conflict with her family.

The film is scheduled to premiere in Malta on March 18th with a national release on April 8th.
