The Royal Film Commission (RFC) has announced that All That’s Left of You, by Jordanian-Palestinian director Cherien Dabis, will be Jordan’s submission for the 2026 Oscars.
It was selected from a call for entries launched by the RFC last June, with the final choice made by an independent committee of six members working in the audiovisual sector.
Premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, All That’s Left of You follows a Palestinian teenager who becomes entangled in a protest in the West Bank. Following a confrontation with Israeli soldiers, his mother reflects on their family history, beginning with his grandfather’s eviction from Jaffa in 1948. Through this narrative the film spans three generations, revealing how trauma and resistance are transmitted through time.
Cherien Dabis rose to prominence with her first feature Amreeka, which premiered at the Sundance Festival in 2009. Also screened at Cannes during the Film-makers’ Fortnight, the film won the Fipresci International Critics’ Award.
All That’s Left of You has had the support of several international partners, including Eurimages – Council of Europe, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus.
