The Apulia International Film Fund has doubled its offer, allocating €10 million for film production in the Puglia region between 2018 and 2020.
The size of the fund helps support the local film industry and attract national and international productions, says Antonio Parente, director of the Apulia Film Commission.
All projects for drama, documentary, short films, animations or other creative audiovisual projects are eligible to receive finance, provided they respect certain conditions: there must be at least 6 days filming in the Apulia region (2 for short films), and 60% of the budget must be spent during that time (40% for documentaries, 20% for short films).
For those registered in the Apulia Film Commission’s Production Guide, 75% of expenses can be reimbursed. People paying taxes in Puglia can also have some of their expenses reimbursed: up to 70% for short films, 50% for documentaries and animated films and 30% for dramas.
Each project has a maximum limit: €1 million for dramas, €250,000 for animation, €100,000 for documentaries and €40,000 for short films.
