ITALY / Call for submissions for the 8th Middle East Now Festival

The 8th film and cultural festival focussing on the Middle East will take place in Florence from April 4^th to 9^th 2017.

The organizers of Middle East Now, a cultural association called Map of Creation, have opened their call for submissions, with a deadline on February 7^th 2017.

The festival is open to dramas, documentaries and animated films, long or short, but they must have been produced between 2015 and 2017 in one of the following countries: Afghanistan, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, U.A.E., Iraq, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and Yemen.

All the selected films will compete for the Audience Award, while two other awards (the NYU Florence Best Short and the Best OFF) will be given to the best short films.
