Banijay, the French production company specializing in TV programmes, has taken a minority stake in the capital of a new Italian production house, DRY.

DRY (Do not Repeat Yourself) was founded by four former employees of Magnolia, another production company associated with Banijay: Fabrizio Ievolella, Danila Battaglini, Francesco Lauber and Leopoldo Gasparotto.

DRY’s aim is to create new formats for the Italian market and export them abroad, relying on the experience of its four partners who worked on the Italian adaptations of formats such as “Masterchef”, “X Factor”, “Beijing Express” and “My Restaurant Rocks” (in Italian “4 Ristoranti”).

Banijay, which just a year ago merged with Zodiak Media, is currently present in twenty countries through a multitude of subsidiaries. In Italy DRY is the fifth production company to become associated with Banijay, following Ambra, Aurora TV, NonPanic and Magnolia.
