The 70th Prix Italia will be held in Capri from September 25th to 29th. When it was created in 1948, the awards were only for radio programmes, opening out to television in 1957. The Prix has a unique structure: the General Assembly, made up of its international members, makes the decisions while RAI organises the event.
The competition seeks to promote and celebrate innovation and creativity in radio, television and web content, while at the same time helping all types of broadcasting professionals to connect, from creators to broadcasters, through discussions and meetings. In 2017, 47 radio and television stations from 31 countries were present.
The competition is divided into eight categories: three for radio programmes, three for television programmes and two for web formats, with a special award presented by the President of the Italian Republic.
